Letter from Recruitment Chair
Dear University of Utah Student,
Huge congratulations on your interest in Greek life, welcome! The sisters of Delta Gamma are excited that you are considering going through sorority recruitment. Life in the Greek Community provides sisterhood, academic support, social functions, community service, and an expanded network of students. Going Greek is, without a doubt, the highlight of my college experience. I look forward to recruitment each year because I love meeting the future of this community and sharing all that Greek life has to offer. I invite you to take a closer look at Delta Gamma and learn more about our organization through our website, alumni, and socials. There is no better support system than Delta Gamma to help ease the transition into your college experience.
As one of the most respected campus organizations, Delta Gamma holds a reputation of academic excellence, commitment to philanthropy, and outstanding campus involvement. We strive to uphold the values on which our sorority was founded: to foster high ideals of friendship among college women, to promote educational and cultural interests, to create a true sense of social responsibility and to develop in them the best qualities of character. We run a values based recruitment, so I invite you to reflect upon how these values may apply to your life. Commitment to these values has led to an outstanding group of women who are involved in a diverse number of activities and campus organizations including the Student Alumni Board, the MUSS Board, ASUU, Union Programming Council, the Hinckley Institute, and over 40 other student groups. We take great pride in making the most of our time here at the University of Utah. During my time as an active member, Delta Gamma has been awarded “Favorite Sorority” and “Most Involved Sorority” by other chapters in the Greek community. Our Chapter of Delta Gamma has been recognized on campus, in the Salt Lake community, and nationally. In addition to our outstanding campus involvement, we have shown our commitment to academics by currently holding the highest GPA among all sororities on campus. Philanthropy is another area that we emphasize. We partner with the local charity, Friends for Sight, to administer free eye screenings to underserved populations. We also work with various other philanthropic organizations such as volunteering for food drives and homeless shelters, and we emphasize heavy involvement with other chapter’s philanthropies as well.
Although academics, philanthropy, and campus involvement are important, it is our sisterhood and unique bonds of friendship that set our house apart. Delta Gamma is a place to find genuine friendships that extend well beyond your time at college. I am lucky to be surrounded by such talented, accountable, intelligent, loving, and supportive women. They continuously push me to be the best version of myself. With the women of Delta Gamma, I have learned to be a leader and I have flourished with the support of such kind-hearted, genuine women. We will remain a close-knit group for the rest of our lives – always bound by our common sisterhood. Delta Gamma is not for four years, but for a lifetime.
As a Delta Gamma, you will enjoy your college experience with amazing memories, leadership skills, friendships, and an entire network of sisters and other members of the Greek community that will be there for you for the rest of your life. I invite you to check out the rest of the Delta Gamma website to learn more about our organization.
